Lough Mask is situated to the north of Lough Corrib connected at times of high water by the Cong Canal.  Mask is approximately 16km, (10 miles) long and 6.5km (4 miles) wide.  Mask is a classic wet-fly Lough and produces bags of trout from 1lb upwards; fish of 4-5lb to the fly are not uncommon.  Like Corrib to the south Mask is rocky and visiting anglers would be well advised to hire a boatman when going out on the lake.  The season on Mask is the same as Corrib, February 15th to September 30th.
